Hey Folks,
yKAN Community Service Volunteers are visiting the Korean American elderly residents at the Anna Erika Nursing Home in Staten Island this Saturday, March 28, 2009. We will serve lunch, play games, and offer gifts to the elders during our visit. Come join us if you wish!

Subway Directions:

If you are coming from the city (Manhattan), there is a carpool at the SI Terminal at 8:30AM. The carpool driver is Steven Yoo, and he can be reached at (917)518-4044.

To arrive at Staten Island at 8:30, you must get the 8AM ferry at Whitehall Ferry Terminal, which can be reached via:

-> South Ferry (last stop) - train might not go to this stop on weekends. Might have to get off the 1 train at Chambers and get the free shuttle bus down to the terminal. But maybe not! Please check MTA for more info.

-> Whitehall St.

or -> Bowling Green - Approx a 4 minute walk to the terminal.

If you miss the 8AM, an alternative would be to take the S44 bus, which can be found at the Staten Island Ferry terminal, to 110 Henderson St, between Lafayette Ave and Clinton Ave.

If you miss the ferry and the carpool, please take a taxi or cab from the terminal and give the driver the directions below.

If you are coming from Queens or LI, there is a carpool at Queens. Email community@ykan.org if you are interested in the Queens carpool.

-Directions from NJ
From the NJ Highway/NJ Turnpike, take NJ Turnpike South/I-95 S. Take I-278 E to exit 13, Goethals Br / Verrazano Br. Then from Verrazano Br: Take the Exit 13, toward Clove Road/Richmond Rd. to Bard Avenue. Make a Right on Bard to Henderson Avenue. Make a Right on Henderson. The go straight down until you see the blue and white striped walled building. Please turn onto that building and parking lot is in the rear.

-Directions from Manhattan
From E. 34th Street, merge onto FDR Drive S. toward Battery Pk. (FDR Drive S. becomes South St. Then South St. becomes W. Side Hwy/West St.) Merge onto Brooklyn Battery Tunnel via exit #2 toward I-278/Brookyn. Take Gowanus Exwy toward Hamilton Avenue. Merge onto I-278W. Take the Exit 13, toward Clove Rd/Richmond Rd. to Bard Avenue. Make a Right on Bard to Henderson Avenue. Make a Right on Henderson. The go straight down until you see the blue and white striped walled building. Please turn onto that building and parking lot is in the rear.

From the Cross Island Pkwy S. Continue towards Belt Pkwy/Brooklyn/Kennedy Airport. Take the I-278 exit #3, towards Verrazano Br./NJ/SI. Merge on I-278W. Take the Exit 13, toward Clove Rd/Richmond Rd. to Bard Avenue. Make a Right on Bard to Henderson Avenue. Make a Right on Henderson. The go straight down until you see the blue and white striped walled building. Please turn onto that building and parking lot is in the rear.
